Art Glues


The first coating you'll put down is one decession not to overlook.

While looking at this page to make sure it was formatted like all other pages in PaintersStudio, I found my original outline was not very user-friendly. I intend on updating this page very soon. The main focus will become the glues that can be specificly be used in the paint process.

Glues Types

Cold Glues

Of animal origin.
Fish Glue:(isinglass) parchment glue, caesine as glue.

Hot Animal Glues

Rabbitskin glue:Gelatin bone glue protein. The parent substance of gelatin is collagen of which the organic material of the bones, tendons, cartilage and the skin, is largely composed. Gelatin is slowly formed from the collagen by heating it in water to between 80 and 90 degrees.

Vegetable Glues


Starch Paste: Poly-metric carbohydrate (potatoes, rice, wheat, etc.)
Wheat Paste; cellulose paste (cellulose nitrate.)

Gums:
  A. Bum Arabic
  B. Gum Tragalith

Latex, Dandelion and Fig.A. Latex has been made synthetically: modern synthetic dispersion.


Resin Glues: Synthetic
  A. Polymer Acrylic (Rhoplex,) polyvinyl acetate (PVA); Elmers glue, etc...

  B. Epoxy; powerful contact cement.
    a. Devcon: 5 minute epoxy.
    b. Dow Corning; urethane bond- instant crazy glue.
